Field Notes from the Global AI Market: Our Overseas Event Recap

As AI technology and the industry continue to grow at high speed, model compression has become a core advantage in the global market. AI accelerator hardware, such as NPUs (neural processing units), is also advancing quickly. To keep pace, teams need to understand market demand accurately and communicate well with global players.

When technology moves this fast, teams need to keep learning and tracking new trends. As the saying goes, "Even if we are the best team in the world today, there is no guarantee we will still be the best tomorrow." To maintain top technical strength, SqueezeBits invests heavily in each team member's learning and growth. We support self-development budgets and actively encourage people to attend conferences and seminars. When opportunities come up overseas, we help team members attend in person so they can experience the energy of the field firsthand.

In this post, we share firsthand stories from team members who recently attended several events in the United States.

At the end of February, SqueezeBits joined the Edge AI Foundation community event in Austin. We networked with leading member companies and attended insightful sessions on technical and business trends. We also heard more from Yunjung, our Business Development Manager, who attended the event with our CEO, Hyungjun Kim.

Q. What did you do at Edge AI Foundation Austin 2025?

Yunjung: For the three days of the event, we ran the Squeezebits booth and attended sessions taking place across the venue. Because the event focused specifically on Edge AI and brought together member companies from the foundation, I came away with much deeper and more specialized insights than I usually get at AI exhibitions in Korea.

Q. This was your first time attending an overseas event in person. You have already joined many exhibitions in Korea as a Business Development Manager, so what felt different about this one?

Yunjung: The global market really felt different. In Korea, AI model compression is still a relatively uncommon field. Globally, I could immediately see that there are more specialists and a much stronger market demand. This event itself may have been smaller than the Korean events Squeezebits has joined so far, but the density was far higher.

Q. It sounds like you came back with a lot of strong insights. Is there anything that especially stayed with you or that you particularly enjoyed?

Yunjung: After the official schedule ended each day, there were separate networking gatherings in the evening. I met people from many different backgrounds there. I especially remember the conversations I had not only with experts in Edge AI and model compression or optimization, but also with senior people whose career paths in business development were similar to mine. I learned a great deal. After the event, I also used the weekend to stay two more days and travel on my own before flying back. The company gave me flexibility with both flights and work scheduling, which made the whole trip even better. ☺️

Then March brought another major event: NVIDIA GTC 2025. Hosted by NVIDIA, GTC is a global technology conference that shares the latest innovations and research across GPUs, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing (HPC), autonomous driving, robotics, and more. It is also a place where people can experience Jensen Huang's keynote, talks from global technology leaders, networking with researchers and developers, and demos of the newest AI hardware and software firsthand.

Anyone in the AI industry knows how big GTC is, so Squeezebits could not miss it. Our CEO and Tech Lead traveled to San Jose with four engineers from the team. NVIDIA announced that in-person attendance reached 25,000 people, and the atmosphere on-site was intense. Deep Learning Engineer Changjun and Yeonjoon, who are serving through Korea's industrial technical service program, shared the moments that stood out to them most at GTC.

Q. What did you do at GTC?

Yeonjoon: I tried to attend as many sessions as possible because the lineup was packed with strong content. There were also countless booths, so I got to see the technologies and achievements of many different companies. Most of all, it was a very full experience because I could network and exchange technical perspectives with developers and researchers from around the world.

Q. In what way did your experience at GTC help you the most?

Changjun: Experiencing the field firsthand, where technology is moving fastest, gave me tremendous motivation. I spoke directly with global companies I had only heard about before. Those conversations raised my ambition not only for my own growth, but also for the direction Squeezebits should pursue as a company.

Q. Is there anything that especially stayed with you? We would love to hear your impressions.

Yeonjoon: I left early in the morning to attend Jensen Huang's keynote, but I still remember how many people were already lined up. More than anything, I enjoyed being there in person for the unveiling of NVIDIA's latest technology.

Changjun: Other team members who attended felt the same way. We saw many companies with impressive technology, but I also came away convinced that SqueezeBits is not behind in the global market. Building strong technology still comes first. At the same time, I realized that we need to invest just as seriously in making ourselves known and uncovering marketing and business opportunities.

Q. Had you ever attended a large overseas conference like this before? How did it differ from events in Korea?

Changjun: I had been to a few IT and AI exhibitions in Korea, but this was my first overseas event. At other companies, opportunities to attend overseas events usually seem to go mainly to researchers. Our CEO encourages every team member to attend at least one overseas event if possible, and that is how I got this chance. The scale of the global market was clearly different, and the technical discussions were far more specialized.

Yeonjoon: Because I am serving through Korea's industrial technical service program, even the process of reporting the trip to the Military Manpower Administration and getting approval was complicated. Even so, our CEO strongly encouraged me to join, and our internal operations team put in a great deal of work to help with the paperwork. That support is what made the trip possible for me.

That is a look back at the overseas events our team members attended across February and March. They came back with not only technical insight, but also a clearer sense of where SqueezeBits should head as we grow through exchanges with global companies. We expect more opportunities to attend overseas events ahead. We are already curious to see which team member will come back with the next memorable story.

SqueezeBits gives every team member strong support so they can keep growing. We encourage attendance at conferences and academic events, and we also invest actively in self-development. If you want to grow with us in an environment built around deep focus and innovation, our door is always open.
